Translation and Assistance:

- The Georgia Department of Education website provides a list of resources for alternative format books (audiobooks, eBooks, large type, Braille, etc.).
- LookTel is a free money reading app available in the Apple app store. By scanning the currency, then speaking the amount out loud, this app helps people with visual impairments or blindness to identify and count bills.
iPhone Accessibility:
- Go to Settings. Then go to Accessibility.
- Go to Spoken Content. Then turn on Speak Selection and Speak Screen. Speak Selection will allow a "speak" button to appear when you click on a word. To use Speak Screen, swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen. This reads aloud all the text on your screen.
- You can also use VoiceOver. This allows the words you tap on to be read aloud. Instructions on how VoiceOver works can be found under the VoiceOver tab.
- To increase the size of words on your phone screen go to Display & Text Size. Turn on Bold Text and Larger Accessibility Sizes. Then adjust text size to how you want it.
Android Accessibility:
- Go to Settings. Then go to Accessibility.
- Go to Select to Speak. At the top, turn on Select to Speak. To hear descriptions of things on your screen, swipe up with two fingers. Tap a word to hear it. To hear everything, tap the Play button or arrow.
- If Select to Speak is not in your settings, go to Google Play to download the Android Accessibility Suite.
- To change the word size, tap on Larger Text under Accessibility. Flip on the Larger Accessibility Sizes switch and use the slider to change text sizes.
Speech to Text:
- Google Docs Voice Typing - Go to Tools. Select Voice Typing and start.
- Microsoft Office Dictate - For Microsoft, go to Home. Then, go to Dictate.
